Pizza Google Doodle Game – Play the Pizza Slicing Puzzle Fullscreen

Think slicing pizza is easy? This Doodle will make you reconsider. Released on December 6, 2021, the Pizza Google Doodle celebrates one of the world’s most beloved foods with a deceptively tricky puzzle game that challenges you to slice pizzas according to very specific customer orders. It commemorates the anniversary of Neapolitan “Pizzaiuolo” being inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity back in 2007.

The game starts simple enough — just cut a Margherita into the requested number of slices. But things escalate quickly. You’re not just dividing pizzas evenly; you need to ensure each slice contains exactly the right combination of toppings. The White Pizza level, for example, requires you to create six slices where three have only mushrooms and the other three have both mushrooms and broccoli. And you’re limited to just three cuts per pizza. By the time you reach the Paneer Tikka Pizza with its chaotic mix of paneer, capsicum, onion, and paprika spread across 11 required slices, you’ll realize this cute little game is actually testing your geometry and logic skills.

The Doodle takes you on a world tour of pizza styles across 11 levels: classic Italian Margherita, American Pepperoni, Brazilian Calabresa with its distinctive sausage and black olives, Argentine Muzzarella, Hawaiian (yes, with pineapple), Hungarian Magyaros loaded with salami and bacon, Japanese Teriyaki Mayonnaise, Thai-inspired Tom Yum with shrimp and lime leaves, Indian Paneer Tikka, and finally a Dessert Pizza with “endless possibilities.” Each level includes a fun fact button you can click to learn about that pizza’s origins and cultural significance.

What makes this Doodle so addictive is the scoring system. The more precisely you slice and distribute toppings, the more stars you earn (up to three per level). After you make your cuts, a charming animation shows hands — and sometimes paws — reaching in to grab slices. The final two levels are notoriously difficult to perfect, with toppings deliberately arranged to confuse your slicing strategy. The game was created by artist David Lu, with UX design by Anthony Irwin, production by Brenna Fallon, and music by Christel Veraart.

Google notes that an estimated five billion pizzas are consumed globally each year — that’s 350 slices per second in the United States alone.
