Squaredle – Play the Daily Word Finding Puzzle Online

Squaredle is the word puzzle that rewards exploration over guessing. Instead of finding one mystery word, you hunt for every word hiding inside a grid of letters — and there are a lot of them. Swipe or click through adjacent letters to form words, uncover all the required ones, and if you’re feeling ambitious, go hunting for the bonus words the game’s designers buried in there too. It’s the kind of puzzle you can finish in five minutes or spend half an hour in, depending on how deep you want to dig.

Created by Joey Kan and launching in early 2022 during the peak of the daily puzzle boom, Squaredle distinguished itself from the Wordle pack by being genuinely different in format. While most variants kept the “guess one word” structure, Squaredle asks something harder: find all the words. The grid changes daily, the required words vary in length and difficulty, and the bonus list keeps competitive players chasing a perfect score long after the required words are done.

Movement in the grid follows a simple rule — each letter must be adjacent to the previous one, including diagonals. That means every path through the grid is different, and the same letters can form multiple different words depending on which direction you travel. The puzzle rewards players who think spatially, who can see multiple paths at once, and who know their way around the less common corners of the English vocabulary.

Words must be at least four letters long, and the required words span multiple lengths. Shorter required words are usually more familiar, while the longer ones test vocabulary properly. Bonus words push into more obscure territory — if you’re finding them all, you’re genuinely impressive. The game keeps track of which words you’ve found and which are still hiding, giving you that perfect nudge to keep going when you think you’re done.

How To Play Squaredle

Look at the grid of letters and swipe or click through adjacent tiles to form words. Letters must be connected — each new letter must be directly next to the previous one on the grid, including diagonals. You can’t skip over tiles or use the same tile twice in a single word.

All words must be at least four letters long. As you find valid words, they’ll be added to your list and the tiles will briefly highlight. Required words are sorted by length — find all of them to complete the daily puzzle. Bonus words beyond the required list earn you extra points and bragging rights, but they’re optional.

If you’re stuck, the hint system can point you toward words you’re missing. The daily puzzle resets at midnight, so you get one fresh grid every day. Your streak tracks how many consecutive days you’ve completed the required words, which gives you every reason to come back tomorrow and keep your record intact.
